Osseous Surgery

Osseous Sugery is preformed to reduce pocket depths by removing infected tissue, re-contouring bone levels, cleaning the tooth surface to the bone level and reposition the healthy gum tissue.  This will allow better homecare access due to the shift in gum tissue by exposing the tooth structure that was previously covered by the infected tissue.  Following the surgery your teeth may appear longer due to exposed tooth structure.  It is normal to have increased sensitivity after this surgery that is usually temporary.
